The Perfect Counterpart to Hot Yoga

Heat opens you up. Cold brings you home. Our rooftop cold plunge pool is the natural companion to your hot yoga practice — helping your body recover, reset, and return to balance. Step out of the heat and into the chill for one of the most powerful things you can do for your nervous system.

What's Included

The cold plunge is complimentary with all Soul Fire memberships. Simply sign up with the teacher at the desk before or after your class and take the plunge. The pool is available 30 minutes before and after scheduled classes while a teacher is on site.

What It Does for Your Body

Cold water immersion after hot yoga is a powerful reset. As your body moves from heat to cold, your blood vessels constrict and then dilate — flushing out metabolic waste, reducing inflammation, and kick-starting recovery. You can also expect:

  • Reduced muscle soreness after class

  • Improved circulation

  • An endorphin boost that lifts mood and eases stress

  • Greater resilience in your nervous system over time

Before You Plunge

A little preparation goes a long way:

Shower first

Please rinse off sweat, oils, and lotions before entering to keep the water clean for everyone.

Hydrate

Drink water before and after; cold exposure is more demanding than it looks.

Come in slowly

Ease your body in gradually rather than jumping. Your limbs may feel stiff at first, and that's completely normal.

Keep your head above water

No dunking, and please avoid submerging hair products into the pool.

Set a time limit

Beginners, aim for 1–3 minutes. Work up gradually and never exceed 5 minutes per session.

Breathe

Slow, deep breaths help your body settle into the cold and prevent the shock response from taking over.

After Your Plunge

Pat dry with a towel and warm up gradually. Gentle movement — a slow walk, some air squats, or simply sitting quietly — helps blood flow return to your limbs. Feeling cool afterwards is normal. Give your body time to return to its natural temperature before getting on with your day.

Please note: the cold plunge must only be used when a Soul Fire teacher is present on site. Never use the pool alone.

Is the Cold Plunge for You?

The cold plunge is open to most healthy adults, but please do not use it if you:

  • Have a respiratory condition such as asthma or COPD

  • Have an open wound, skin infection, or active illness

  • Have Raynaud's syndrome or peripheral neuropathy

  • Are pregnant

  • Have recently consumed alcohol or a heavy meal
